Our Management Team
QA Labs was conceived by the founding partners who share a commitment to facilitating quality improvement in the software industry. Each of these partners participates equally in the vision and leadership of the company.
Wolfgang Strigel - President
Wolfgang B. Strigel is a co-founder and President of QA Labs Inc. He also assumes responsibilities for marketing sales and partner relations. Wolfgang has over 25 years of experience in software engineering and corporate management. He was the founder and past president of the Software Productivity Center Inc., an international resource center with products and services for software development organizations. Previously, he was a Vice President at MacDonald Dettwiler, a Canadian aerospace company, where he was responsible for the engineering department.
Wolfgang is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of IEEE Software Magazine, a member of IEEE, ACM, PMI, ASQC. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences and publishes papers on a range of software engineering topics and acted as IT advisor to the US and Japanese governments.
To maintain his sanity he likes to play with alternative energy systems, enjoys skiing, scuba diving, swimming and the world of visual arts and design.
Wolfgang grew up in Germany where he received a B.Sc. in Mathematics (Munich). He then accidentally relocated to Canada where he completed a M.Sc. in Computer Science (McGill University, Montreal). A further accident brought him to Vancouver where he completed the Executive MBA program at SFU. He does not expect any further relocation mishaps in the near future.
Cecilia Cesar - VP Client Services
Cecília Cesar is a co-founder and Vice-President Client Services of QA Labs. As VP, Client Services her responsibilities include the management of projects and associated staff for client companies and overall process consulting.
Previously, Cecília worked in development for several companies in Brazil, and with Microsoft where she was responsible for a number of management roles including Product Support Services, Solution Providers and Localization. Also, as a vital part of the Inso Corporation (formerly Paradigm Development Corporation) QA Team, Cecília worked on projects for Adobe and Microsoft, and on Outside in Java, a Java based document viewer.
Cecília has a degree in Computer Science from the Technological Air Force Institute of Brazil and a certificate in Marketing. Cecília has also authored and published two technical books.
Trevor Atkins - VP Operations
Trevor Atkins is a co-founder and Vice-President Operations of QA Labs. After obtaining a degree in Applied Science for Electrical Engineering from UBC, Trevor has been involved in all aspects of software development ever since. He was previously the Quality Systems Strategist of Paradigm Development Corp. responsible for quality process definition and internal tool development.
In addition to the varied responsibilities of his formal role, he is dedicated to the design and improvement of quality processes used across all projects at QA Labs. His other specialties include custom tool and harness design, automation, usability assessments, and asset management.
